Quiet Birthdays

Its my husbands birthday today. We were both working, as we have the week after Easter weekend off work together. So its a quiet night in with a takeaway of his choice, so he is having a kebab and I am having a Hawaiian burger. Yes, I am one of those weird people who likes pineapple on pizza and burgers. Its lush, don't diss it!! 

We will have more of a celebration tomorrow. One of my team members is retiring so we are going for a few cocktails after work and some of our partners will come with us. We are so gutted she is retiring, she is a huge part of our team and has become a really good friend to all of us. We will definitely keep in touch with her. I know people who leave jobs say that all the time, but there are only 6 of us and we are so close. 

That is one of the main reasons I was so sad to see our manager move stores. We got on so well, it was like working with a little brother. I am also very close to his wife after he made the mistake of saying how similar we are, how much he thought we would get on and that we should spend some time together. We arranged to go for a meal and lots of cocktails later we are besties. We had an instant connection and felt like we had known each other our whole lives. 

Sometimes the best friend come from the least expected places.
